Troubleshooting and Repair
1. Sprocket Tooth Wear: If both sides of the sprocket teeth show significant wear, it indicates poor drive alignment.If "grooves" appear, it indicates excessive wear; the sprocket should be replaced. Alternatively, the sprocket can be reversed so that the less worn side faces the chain. Excessively worn sprockets should ideally be replaced along with the chain.
2. Chain Plate Side Wear: If the inner surface of the chain plate in the inner link is severely worn, it indicates misalignment in the drive. The solution is to check the alignment of the shaft and sprocket. If the installation is correct, observe whether deformation due to excessive load during operation causes insufficient rigidity.
3. Parallelism of Front and Rear Axles and Coplanarity of Sprockets: For wear life, chain performance largely depends on the correct installation of the front and rear axles and sprockets. The requirements are: parallelism of the front and rear axles within 1/300; coplanarity of the front and rear sprockets within 0.5-1.0 mm/meter. If these problems are observed during chain operation, adjustments should be made promptly.
